Elsa has 3 modes: sing along mode, switch 0, try me mode, switch 1 and language mode, switch 2. There are a set of instructions for each mode. To use mode 0, hold the button on the microphone, press her neckalace and press the mic to her mouth. Let her start singing and then you can take it away at any time, the background will play, and you can sing into the mic, still holding the mic button down. You can go back and forth like this for the whole song. There are instructions online if you search for the instructions manual for Elsa sing along doll. I pressed two and I couldn't understand the Spanish so I'm pretty sure it allows you to change it. I got this for my little 2 year old sister and she doesn't really know how to use the sing along part but she hasn't stopped listening Elsa sing since I'd given it to her, about an hour ago. I'm looking forward to singing with her and she's never been this entertained with a toy ever. She's always picked something up and then say it down 5 minutes later.And here is another Frozen toy that will fill your heart (and your house) with "Let it Go..." Just what our household needed...and I know you need one too! My daughter LOVES this one for some reason and plays with her ALL the time! Luckily there is a little switch on her back that allows you to turn her off when you've had enough. Just need to be ready with the "Elsa must have gotten sleepy" excuse for your little one. My biggest complaint is that this Elsa is VERY VERY loud and there doesn't seem to be a way to control her volume other than turning her off. That doesn't take away from my daughter's enjoyment, but my head sure does suffer. In the end its all about her happiness anyway, right?!My 3 year old is in love with the movie Frozen, so naturally, I bought her this doll. She absolutely loves the doll and takes it with her everywhere cause its her "baby". It is definitely made well, so far I do not see any sighs of it breaking or falling apart and considering how much daughter drags her around it is definitely nice to see that it is holding up so well. The sign along option works very well and my daughter picked up the concept of how it works quickly, however as a mother my biggest complaint is the amount of times I have and to endure "Let it Go", however, I could not provide a lower rating because of the headache its caused me because it makes my lil girl so happy it is most definitely worth it!This is a Christmas gift, so was worried from other reviews that it may be a resell or a defective toy. So far so good. I managed to open it without actually taking it apart. The batteries that came in the microphone not longer worked. And taking he doll did not have any battries in her. I placed all new batteries into the toys and all seemed to work great. Hopefully that is still the case on Christmas morning.My 19 month old grand daughter loves this!! She sings along with it all day long. The doll has survived some pretty good falls, and is dragged around everywhere. My only complaint is the microphone leaves much to be desired. It only works if you stick your mouth up against it and even then, it distorts your voice. It really is a cheap excuse or a microphone. It seems like many people were confused about this so they now have the instructions tied to her. I bought this doll because she sings the ENTIRE Let It Go song on her own when you raise her hand.My daughter is too young to use the microphone so we do not use that option yet.Highly recommend.love it
