This is my first chicken coop. I was surprised at how easy it was to assemble! I love that if I want I can get a second one to double the space for the chicks. Voice of the Customer Easy to assemble great instructions Two of us put this together in less than 30 minutes. All the holes are pre-drilled. They are also pegged in the most important parts. There are written instructions and pictures. The max chickens for this would be 4. Preferably 3 grown hens. I am buying a second to put inside my greenhouse for winter. I am using little giant hanging water feeders for the inside so they don't take up too much of space. This is a great bargain, easy to use, and beautiful. Voice of the Customer Love! Love! Buy this one... I couldn't be more pleased! This is a very functional coop and well thought out. The pieces fit together well and it very nice looking! The asphalt roof is a lovely grey which matches the paint. The hardware is better on this coop than others out there, especially as it has the cool feature of being mobile. I have gotten so many neighbors and people off the street complimenting on how nice this coop looks. It came in 2 boxes and was easy for me to assemble by myself but you need 2 people to move it. I added the extension so it cannot be used as a chicken tractor. In order to make it predator proof I added cinder blocks and patio pavers around it. I purchased this little coop for my young chickens that still need to be separated from the adult chickens. The product was very easy to assemble. I was able to do most of it by myself. I had help with installing the side hinges on the lid to the sleeping area. I only gave 3 stars for sturdiness because I know how destructive and nimble -fingered racoons can be so I am a little afraid they will still get in, but for the price it is as I expected. I will be adding additional locking latches on the top lid, the tray and the front doors. I placed the coop inside of a fairly secure pen that consists of three sides of a dog kennel wrapped with regular chicken wire on the sides with 2 x 4 welded wire fencing wired over the top and railroad ties on the outside on the ground and limestone blocks around the interior on the ground. I have never had anything try to dig into the pen in 7 years, but my older chickens are shut securely in a larger walk-in coop attached to the pen. This is a very nice looking product and is a good size for my six young 10-week-old Buff Orpington hens to reach maturity and be ready to go with the big girls. I partitioned off a portion of the pen for them to run around and be chickens. One thing that really impressed me was the fact that an extra piece of all of the fasteners was provided.
