"Who will protect the house without a door?"When her father passes away, a little girl is forced to answer this question. She watches helplessly as her mother gets lost to addiction and the good men in her life are taken from her. As a result, she began her search for what she thought was missing; the perfect family. One by one, she explores abusive relationships with less-than-good men who take advantage of that vulnerability. Through immense hardship and terrible experiences that no one should have to endure, this little girl matures into a Powerful Woman in spirit, character, and truth-a shining example to others whose doors have been ripped from its hinges.
As a non traditional father I believe it’s important to understand the impact that I have on my daughters’ lives. I began to ask God for more insight on the matter and I was lead to this book. Initially I purchased the digital copy of the book and listened in audio. I was so impressed I purchased the hardcopy shortly after. From the start of the book I was captivated and completed the reading in a day. Just when I thought I’d heard it all when it comes to life’s challenges; this book showed me different and opened my eyes to a new perspective. A much needed perspective, the perspective I know God wanted me to grasp as a man, brother and a father. The challenges the author endured and overcame is nothing short of a miracle and reassurance of a Higher Power. The details of circumstances allow the reader to travel alongside the author during her journey. The transparency plants and waters a seed of empathy needed for one to have compassion for others. I thank God for the creative mind that took a hard knock life and composed it into a beautiful work. I suggest this reading to men and women as we can all take something that can improve our own lives.
